Manuscript Submission and Publication Workflow
1. Manuscript Submission and Upload via the Online Submission System
Authors wishing to submit manuscripts to the IQR Journal of Applied Statistics in Social Sciences must register on the journal’s online submission system and complete the manuscript upload process. The following documents must be uploaded to the system in full:
Main manuscript file (without author information, prepared for anonymous peer review)
Title page containing author details (name, academic title, institution, department, contact information, etc.)
Plagiarism report generated by iThenticate, Turnitin, or İntihalnet (maximum similarity rate: 15%)
Copyright transfer agreement
All uploaded documents must comply with the journal’s academic writing guidelines, ethical principles, and formatting requirements. Submissions with missing documents will not be considered for review.
2. Preliminary Review and Technical Check
Submitted manuscripts first undergo preliminary review by the editorial board. At this stage:
The scientific quality of the manuscript and its relevance to the journal’s scope are evaluated.
Basic checks are conducted for language accuracy and writing quality.
Compliance with formatting rules and the referencing system is verified.
The plagiarism report is reviewed to ensure the similarity rate is within acceptable limits.
If the manuscript does not meet the formatting rules or ethical standards, it is returned to the author for revision. Once revised, the manuscript may be resubmitted for preliminary evaluation.
3. Peer Review Process (Double-Blind Review)
Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary review are sent to at least two independent reviewers under the principles of double-blind peer review. In this process:
The identities of both reviewers and authors are kept confidential.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript in terms of scientific merit, originality, methodological rigor, and academic contribution.
If the manuscript receives one favorable and one unfavorable review, it will be submitted to a third independent reviewer to determine the final decision.
Reviewers are given 30 days to submit their evaluations. If a reviewer does not respond within the deadline, a replacement may be assigned.
Based on reviewer reports, the following decisions may be made:
Acceptance: The manuscript is accepted for publication without further changes.
Minor/Major Revision: The author must revise and resubmit the manuscript within the specified period. Reviewers may re-evaluate the revised version if necessary.
Rejection: The manuscript is declined due to insufficient academic quality or misalignment with the journal’s scope.
4. Final Evaluation and Preparation for Publication
Manuscripts that have completed the peer review process undergo a final review by the editorial board. During this stage:
Revisions made in line with reviewer feedback are reviewed.
The manuscript is checked for compliance with academic writing standards and journal formatting guidelines.
Articles deemed suitable for publication by the editorial board are scheduled for publication, and a formal letter of acceptance is sent to the author(s).
5. Revision and Objection Process
Objections to reviewer reports may be submitted to the editorial board, provided they are supported by scientific justification. If deemed necessary, the editorial board may refer the manuscript to a third reviewer or initiate a re-evaluation process.
6. Publication and Copyright
IQR Journal of Applied Statistics in Social Sciences does not charge any fees for the evaluation or publication of manuscripts.
Accepted articles are published as open access on the journal’s official website.
All copyrights of published articles are held by the journal. Articles may be used with appropriate citation of the journal’s name; however, quotations without attribution are subject to legal action.
Published articles may be indexed in relevant academic databases to support discoverability.
7. Process Tracking
Authors can track the status of their manuscripts through the online journal system. As the peer review and publication process is carried out with due diligence, all updates are communicated within the timeframes specified in the system.
